Abu Dhabi to host world’s largest 50-minute fireworks show for NYE 2025
UAE’s Sheikh Zayed Festival aims to break six Guinness Records
Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE) is gearing up to host the world’s largest fireworks display, promising a 50-minute spectacle at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba on New Year’s Eve.
This extraordinary celebration aims to break six Guinness World Records, setting the stage for a dazzling start to 2025.
The festival, renowned for its ambitious performances, will also feature a breathtaking 6,000-drone show creating aerial masterpieces for 20 minutes. These displays underscore Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a global hub for record-breaking celebrations and cultural showcases.
Fireworks will light up the sky every hour starting from 6pm, culminating in the grand finale at midnight. Visitors can also enjoy laser shows, live performances, and cultural exhibits as part of the festival’s family-friendly attractions. The event is accessible to all, with tickets priced at Dh50.
Sheikh Zayed Festival
This isn’t the first time the Sheikh Zayed Festival has etched its name into history. Last New Year’s Eve, its 40-minute fireworks show broke three Guinness World Records in quantity, time, and formation, alongside a record for the largest aerial logo created with over 5,000 drones.
Over the past three years, the festival has achieved a total of 10 Guinness World Records.
Running until 28 February 2025, the Sheikh Zayed Festival celebrates Emirati heritage and global cultures. Hosted under the patronage of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other UAE dignitaries, it is a cultural melting pot featuring international pavilions, traditional arts, and entertainment.
The festival is open daily from 4pm to midnight on weekdays, extending to 1AM on weekends and holidays. Attractions include dazzling fountain displays, parades, and folk performances, making it a must-visit for residents and tourists alike.
